Burning a Hole in my Pocket

Posted by Posh Mommy

This past Christmas my wonderful husband gifted me with a large sum in Saks gift cards. I had originally thought I would save the cards and apply them towards a big ticket item such as a handbag.  However, as the only bags I seem to really salivate over are well above $2000 that idea went out the door!  I then thought I'd stock up on staple items - jeans, black pants, you know more of what I already have - again, bad idea.  I am now considering the items below. These are slightly more frivolous than what I would usually buy but would definitely see some wear when the warmer weather hits.  I am leaning towards the Ali Roi dress and Loeffler Randall sandals.  Check them out - I would love to hear your feedback.

I have been wanting to purchase a diaphanous floral dress for summer. The colors on this version keep it from looking too sweet and I am digging the drop waist and racer back.  I would most likely wear this with flat sandals and a denim jacket - but it would be equally cute for evening with strappy heels or a slim heeled wedge.

Ali Roi Printed Silk Dress - $235

Kind of, sort of a basic - yes.  However, not unlike anything I have in my wardrobe.  It is always wet in Portland so even on what seems like a sunny day, I will throw a light jacket in my bag just in case.  I'd get a lot of use out of this number but maybe a little too boring.  Could probably get something similar for less, your thoughts?

Ali Roi Long Sleeve Anorak - $275

Definitely a splurge item for me.  I don't usually pay this much for sandals, a great black pump perhaps but sandals are an item that I feel can be bought on the cheap.  However, just look at the ruffled T strap - perfection.  Plus, the color is amazing!  What do you think?

Loeffler Randall Ruffle Suede Flat - $475

Much to my husband's dismay - I love stripes.  A striped T feels so Parisian and instantly makes even jeans look more chic.  The mix and matched stripes are super cute and a departure from my basic black and white T.  Again, a great easy dress for Summer but I am thinking perhaps a little boring?
