Launch Update...

Posted by Posh Mommy

Many of you probably already know that I am in the midst of prepping my children's line for it's debut at the end of August.  I have been feverishly working on getting final samples, printing the look book and hangtags, prepping the website, along with a multitude of other jobs that I did not even existed until I started this line.  I know my posting has been sporadic and I wanted to let you all know what was going on!!  I am so appreciative to all of you who visit me daily and cannot wait until I can premier my first collection right her at the Posh Mom.  My website is set to go live next week and I will for sure post a link so that you can all see.

Have a fabulous weekend!!

Loving this Blog...

Posted by Posh Mommy

I often long to be a cool and artistic fashionista - you know, the type who always looks fabulously put together and still wears heels even when strolling through the park. Well...blogging has certainly provided me with glimpses into the lives of women who in "real" life fit this bill.  One fashionable lady whose style I particularly admire can be found over at Beige De Mode.  Cindy is her name and she is based in Melbourne, Australia.  I covet her closet, she is fashionable and chic without being over the top which is why I am seriously fond of her wardrobe choices.  Even a mother of two like me could pull these off.  A few of my favorite looks are below.

Wouldn't this be a perfect play date outfit - I could chase my kids in these togs for sure.  Very similar to what I usually wear each day.

I am lusting over her top - but an ivory top with applique wouldn't last too long against my munchkins.  Maybe for a date with the hubby and those shoes...SIGH.

Must get wedges and opaque tights for Fall - I could do this for the school run.  Pretty but not too glam and wedges are the perfect alternative for my usual flats.

Heat Wave!!

Posted by Posh Mommy

We are in the midst of a heat wave here in Portland  and it is scorching - I think the high is 102 today and I am roasting.  As many of my fellow Portlanders, we do not have AC (and I have totally adjusted to the temperate climate here).  Hey, it's the Pacific Northwest - isn't it supposed to be rainy and wet most of the time.  I guess that is global warming for you.  To say the least, I along with my kids and the hubs are melting and have been camped out in the basement since our return from California on Sunday.  So - if my posting tapers off this week it is probably because I am lying in the darkness of our basement playroom trying to escape the heat.

Hope you are all enjoying your Summer weather - hopefully sitting pretty in your air conditioned homes.

Gap's Give and Get

Posted by Posh Mommy

I have always been a fan of the Gap - having been a clothing and textiles major at a San Francisco based university Gap was always a coveted company to work with. My admiration of the company flourished after I had children, as I feel the clothing is pretty well made, the styles cute and functional, and the sales covetable. I regularly purchase Gap Kids clothing for my girls and have always been a satisfied customer.

I was delighted to receive my Friends and Family discount email the other day. 30% off is always always welcomed savings; however, the personal discount is not all they are offering. If you invite friends - you have the opportunity to designate a non profit who will receive 5% of amount you and your friends and family spend. How spectacular is that - shopping without guilt perhaps? Plus - this offer works at all Gap affiliated retailers including Old Navy, Banana Republic, and Athleta. I have my eyes on back to school clothes for my girls but perhaps mommy deserves a little treat as well? Click here for the link. Happy Spending!!

I am Off...

Posted by Posh Mommy

I am off to California this evening (family in tow).  My cousin is getting married in the beautiful Napa Valley on Saturday and I can't wait to sit back, relax with a nice glass of California wine, and enjoy the momentous occasion.  My husband and I could use a break and with all the family around to help out with the girls we should be able to sneak in a few slow dances!  So I bid you all farewell for the weekend.

As a few of my previous posts have involved french retailers - I am leaving you with a photo I found on line.  I am a hard core Chanel addict - or at least I would be if I had the funds. However, over time I have been lucky enough to have been gifted with a few bags, shoes, and other trinkets from this covetable label.  Thanks Hubs!!  I came across this photo and it made me chuckle.

Smallable

Posted by Posh Mommy

A few days back I opened my email account to find a mail introducing me to the Smallable website.   Cecile - if you are reading this, thanks!  The site is fabulous and I couldn't wait to share all the goodies I found with my readers!!  Well, readers this site is yet another awesome resource for boutique children's clothing.  Based in France (what is it with me and French retail sites lately?) the product offering is refreshing and extremely well edited.  I had heard of several of the brand I saw, but other's were new (and I love, love, love discovering new and innovative brands).  I was only able to check out the apparel offering but definitely need to spend some more time exploring the collections which range from apparel, home furnishing, furniture, and toys.  I can't wait - and the good news is they ship to the US!!  Hooray - now if only the dollar get stronger against the euro so that I could spend more.

You can view more information about the items below or check out more styling options by clicking here.

For the girls - so very chic.

I love European baby clothing, they understand that not all moms want to swathe their infants with clothing emblazoned with animals on them.

For the boys - I am digging the striped hoodie!  Notice the void of trucks and trains on the clothes.

Kico Kids

Posted by Posh Mommy

I have previously professed my love of Kico Kids on the blog (for the original post click here). The collection is absolutely to die for and I pine for the day I can swathe my girls head to toe in this beautiful line. If you are in the NY area - they are hosting what sounds to be a fun and no doubt fabulous event.   If you can definitely stop by.

Party Favors

Posted by Posh Mommy

While cruising a newly discovered blog - Simply Seleta (which by the way is fabulous) I came across a great party favor idea for my daughter's upcoming birthday.  I always struggle with favor bags, how many stickers, fruit snacks, and pencils does a child really need - especially when they are emblazoned with Disney's newest pre-teen sensation.  No thank you, I say.  So check out the idea below.  How cute is this - perfect for a 4 year olds party as they are all learning to write.  Useful and oh so adorable.  I'd add a cello bag full of jelly beans (tied with coordinating ribbons) and perhaps create "Thank You" labels to attach to the bag.  Clip the sweeties to the clip board and voila your done.  Can't wait to get started.

To read the complete post from Seleta's blog click here.  Add her to your daily blog read you won't be dissappointed.

For the Boys!!

Posted by Posh Mommy

I have been promising a boys post for quite some time and have kept putting it off.  Why you might be wondering, well to be totally honest I've been totally uninspired by what I've seen. Until now!!  I came across Ferd, a gem of a brand while browsing Small Magazine which by the way is awesome and a great resource for indie designers.  So much of what I find for boys is logo driven T-shirts (which don't get me wrong I love) but I was pleased as punch to see that this line doesn't offer one basic T in the entire line.  I love the simplicity of the collection - very wearable and easily mixed into your little guys existing wardrobe.  I especially love the striped polo and collared shirt below (the contrast piping on this number is so cute).  To really get the full effect check out their look book here.

P.S. - The little girl's collection is equally as cute!!

Cupcakes!

Posted by Posh Mommy

My daughter turns 4 this September and has been putting in requests for her birthday party. Besides wanting a rock star theme - she loves rocking out to the likes of musicians ranging from Miley Cyrus to Black Eyed Peas (did I mention she is turning 4...) so music is a must.  But beyond that her 2nd specific request has been for cupcakes instead of a traditional cake.  Me, aiming to deliver on these birthday requests immediately went online to look for cupcake ideas.  Although I did not find the perfect rock star cupcake idea I did find all of these!  Who knew a simple cupcake could be so much fun.

The cupcakes below are made by Hello Naomi an Australian bakery based on Newcastle, Australia.  Her designs are extremely creative and oh so cute.  A few of my favorite picks are below - my kids would go gaga over these.  Who wouldn't?  They are absolutely adorable.  I wonder what Naomi would come up with for my little rock star?  To view more of these delightful cakes click here.

What I Want Now- this very minute

Posted by Posh Mommy

I am back from our family camping trip - despite rain, cold, and the fact that our particular camp site was situated far too close to the highway (I felt like I was sleeping under a freeway underpass) I had a lovely weekend.  Enjoyed quality time with the hubs and my girls but am definitely feeling the affects primarily fatigue and what is likely to become a full fledge cold yet here I am at 11:18 surfing the web and blogging.  Hey, after a weekend free of the web I miss my laptop and of course all of you.  So here's a quick post - what I want right now.  Nothing fancy but I am totally feeling this look for early Fall.  Now I am off to bed.

I can't get enough of Tory Burch lately - a little main stream, yes, but her stuff fits me well and easily works into my wardrobe.  The ruffle detailing on this sweater is what hooked me.
Image: Nordstrom

I desperately need a pair of indigo denim skinny jeans.  I like the one's below by Anlo - but would settle for a pair that were actually cropped on me.  Lately most "cropped" jeans hit me right below the ankle.  Hit me up if you have any suggestions.

I am loving all things jeweled lately!  I am turning into my mother (Love you Mom!!).  But aren't these sandals fabulous?  Perhaps a little over the top but that is what makes them so much fun.  My daughter would think I was fancy in these for sure.
Image: Kate Spade

Last but not least - to break up the black in the sweater I'd add this sparkler around my dainty little wrist.  I am lusting over the jewel and grosgrain ribbon details of this piece.  There is a coordinating necklace as well which is absolutely gorgeous.  Pieces like these are so versatile - pair with an LBD and your cocktail ready or add these sparklers to jeans and a T for a dressed up look.

Little Fashion Gallery - Shoes!!

Posted by Posh Mommy

I am back - well sort of, feeling bit better and trying to prep for a camping trip we have planned for the weekend.  I know I promised a boys post (it's coming....) but came across the adorable shoe section at the Little Fashion Gallery and felt compelled to share.  To view their entire assortment click here.

How cute are these?  I love yellow but it can be hard color to pull off.  A bright pop of the canary on the feet is absolutely perfect.

What little girl (and mommy for that matter) can resist a pair of bubble gum pink flats?  The peep toe detail keeps these modern and I am loving the buckle strap - I can see these with bare feet in the Summer and bright patterned tights come Fall.

I adore patent leather (can you tell).  These shiny black puppies remind me of the black patented leather shoes I wore as a little girl but way more chic and sophisticated.  Definitely, not as saccharine as the other pieces I selected.

Too cute!  I am digging the printed details on this shoe plus the colors are so subtle but still seem to pop.  These would be so perfect for Fall - I can see these paired with soft camel colored cords and a great cable knit?  Hmmm - might have to pick these up for my little one.

All is Quiet...

Posted by Posh Mommy

Sorry it has been so quiet.  It was a busy 4th of July weekend and we are all still recuperating. The girl's were definitely over stimulated and I am dealing with the meltdown of 2 toddlers who have been staying up well pat their bedtimes for almost a week!  Plus, I myself am battling a bug. I promise to get back to regular posting this week.  Please, pretty please - bear with me.

Kids Fashion Nirvana

Posted by Posh Mommy

I have just discovered the nirvana of children's fashion and am in Love!!  The Little Fashion Gallery seriously has the chicest collection of children's apparel that I have ever seen - bar none!!  I am in love, love, love with this online boutique!  Really, my heart is still racing. The Paris based boutique's selection is absolutely amazing - from unknown (at least to me) European labels to Little Marc Jacobs and Antik Boutique the offering at the Little Fashion Gallery is nothing less than astonishing.  What is it about the French even their kids are impeccably dressed and oh so fashionable.

This may sound terrible, but my girls are like little versions of me.  I tend to dress them in outfits I myself would like to wear and I can tell you I pretty much wanted everything on this site in mommy size.  A few of my favorite outfits are below.  For your daily dose of everything chic - get to this site ASAP.

P.S. The boys collections are amazing as well - Monday's post will be note all my favorite picks for the little men in your life.

So chic - but with a pop of playfulness.  The polka dotted ribbon accent keeps this from looking too conservative.  FYI - the green tank is actually a body suit!!

You can't deny how fabulous this trench, delightfully feminine but with a modern appeal.  I want this little number for me!  Plus, can you see the little harem pants poking out at the bottom.  Straight from the runway!

So chic, sorry I simply cannot come up with a better way to describe this outfit.  I could totally see my little girls in this outfit running around the Tuileries (baguette in hand).  The red skirt really pops and those shoes, so adorable.  Very school girl chic...

For your little rock star - perhaps a bit sophisticated for my almost 4 year old.  But I couldn't resist posting it.

Summer Bags

Posted by Posh Mommy

Last weekend I had brunch with some girlfriends - I had a fabulous time and it was oh so nice to catch up with these lovely ladies.  I was lamenting about how exciting it was to to be carrying a clutch - as any mom can attest, you won't get very far with a clutch when out with your toddlers.  I am lucky if I can leave the house without a bag the size of a carry on.  Needless to say, the topic of handbags came up - and my friend had asked for my suggestions on a summer appropriate handbag.  My response was something woven.  Woven bags always seem so perfect for the Spring/Summer and a welcome change in texture from the heavy handbags we usually tote in the colder months. So, friend (you know who you are) I am posting a few of my favorite picks on the higher and lower ends.  Hope something catches you fancy - or at least gives you some ideas.

I love this bag - the woven construction makes it warm weather friendly but it without being too casual.   Plus, it's still big enough to carry my kid's essentials.  At $345 it's on the higher end but definitely a classic that could be used for many seasons to come.  For more details click here.

Another high end item - this clutch by Anya Hindmarch is absolutely fabulous.  Look at that tortoise shell detail on the front flap.

This little number is my mid range option - okay so perhaps it's a bit above mid range but worth the splurge.  Cole Haan's quality is always exceptional and this bag is a classic.  It's on sale for $259.95 plus Cole Haan is offering an additional 20% off sale items.  Use the code EXTRA 20 to cash in.

I really like this clutch by Banana Republic as well - and at the bargain price of $39.99 is a great option for those balmy summer nights.  Paired this with your favorite sleeveless LBD and heels then grab your hubby and head to your favorite spot for a romantic dinner for two.

I found this one via the Shop Style website - which by the way is a fabulous resource as it links you to the product offerings of several retailers.  This bag is by New York and Company and at $26.36 (it's on sale) a great and inexpensive option.
