Posh Mom Style

Posted by Posh Mommy

Do You have a mommy uniform?  You know, staples that you reach for every morning when dressing for the school run or weekly play date.  I constantly reach for the same version of this outfit: skinny jeans, slouchy T, cardigan, and flat shoes.  For me comfort is a must so flat shoes are always a key element as I am usually carrying around an extra 50 lbs which is roughly the combined weight of my two daughters.  To add a little polish, I might throw on my Cartier tank watch (a 30th birthday gift from my hubby) and I am out the door.  Boring perhaps, but I know what works for me and as I am usually operating on 5 hours of sleep or less and need my wardrobe to be easy.  I have thrown together a version of what I typically wear each day.  So tell me, what pieces do you rely on?

J Crew Tissue Boyfriend T - On sale for ($19.50)

T Shirts are my friend.  Cute, Comfy, and machine washable - I am usually covered in sticky fingerprints from the waist down which makes the basic T a staple of my daily wardrobe.

J Crew Rosette Ruffle Cardigan ($187)

A bit of a splurge for me, I usually try and pay $100 or less for cardigans but I loved the neutral color and the delicate rosette detailing.  I live in basics, so a little ruffle here and there can really transform an outfit for me.  I would most likely wait for this to go on sale then snatch it up.

J Brand High Waisted Skinny Pant ($187)

I would wear the heck out of these pants.  First of all I love J Brand jeans and would have no problem paying the $187 price for a pair of these baby's.  A good pair of jeans is worth their weight in gold for sure.  I like that these are black, as they are a tad bit dressier then my every day denim. Plus, the ankle zip adds a little rock star glamour and what mom can resist a higher waist. C'mon ladies we can be honest here, after two kids my tummy ain't what it used to be!

Banana Republic "Gia" Gladiator ($89)
I usually buy my sandals in the end of Summer sales but I might consider these at full price.  I like the crossover detailing in the front, not overly strappy which is a plus.  My feet, although small are slightly on the wider side.  Too many straps tend to make them look like stuffed sausages so these would be a great basic sandal to add to my Summer collection.
